Coach Phillips negligent in T.O. ‘Bolt Celebration’ Penalty

This is what you gotta love about Wade Phillips. He did not know the rules so he will not fine Terrell Owens for his post play penalty for another great touchdown celebration.

“I had no idea that touching the ground would be a penalty,” Phillips said. “All I knew that was a penalty was using a prop - using the football as a prop or the goalpost or something. I talked to the official about it and he said ‘That’s the rule,’ and I said ‘Well, tell us about it.’”

For what it is worth, I hope to see as many TO TD celebrations as possible. A question though - Would the religious bloggers get up in arms if a player was penalized for taking a knee to pray after a TD? Me being the guy I am, I want to see that yellow hankie flying when that happens, just to see the editorials.
